Welcome to Feasts for All Seasons!
My name is Sarah and I am the sole author of FFAS. I was lucky enough to grow up in an extended family of great cooks, excellent bakers, committed taste-testers and devout spoon lickers. I also have the benefit of living in Vancouver, a city that is dripping with culinary possibilities. Not only is every other storefront a restaurant (most of which are worth at least trying), but every neighbourhood is teeming with markets, specialty shops, international flavour experiences and surprising new discoveries. How could I not have blossomed into someone who loves to cook? Nature and nurture aside, is there any better way to get people together than the proverbial ‘breaking bread’? I can’t think of one.
As the title suggests, cooking and creating with what is available in season is the focus. You’ll see the look and feel of the posts and main page change with the seasons (and my many aesthetic whims). I’m not here to tell you what to eat, how to eat or what is best, but I do wish to share ideas and experiments (good and bad, tasty and not so delicious) with you and I am not above making my opinions heard. We all have preferences, and while mine may not be the same as yours, discussion is certainly encouraged.
I hope you enjoy this blog, possibly learn a thing or two and contribute through your readership, questions, and comments. If you want to correspond beyond the comments section, feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
All the best,
